Deftones Enlist Metallica, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance for Auction
Chi Cheng, bassist for the Deftones, got in a severe car accident in November, 2008, and has been in a “semi-conscious state” ever since, according to NME. So what’s a band to do? Get your famous musician friends to donate some cool sh*t for an auction to raise money for his medical bills, obviously.
Deftones front man Chino Moreno expresses his hope for his friend and band mate:
“I truly believe he will return to us one day when he is good and rested with a great story to tell in his off the wall Cheng sense of humour. Chi is one tuff ‘MF’ and if anyone can make it through this, it’s gonna be him.”

Prizes include a day of studio time with Blink 182‘s Mark Hoppus, signed instruments and equipment from bands like Metallica, My Chemical Romance, System of a Down and Slayer, plus a trip to see HIM on New Years in Finland.
