Everyone’s favorite Parisian foursome teamed up with Vincent Moon for a “Take Away Show,” or for those of us not familiar with the filmmakers work, an impromptu live street performance for whoever happens to be around.
Phoenix got down guerilla style under in the Trocadero square, on a tourist bus cruising around the city and under a bridge at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Sound romantic? Well, it’s just another day in Paris. The band performed four songs in total for Moon’s La Blogotheque, including “One Time Too Many,” “Lisztomania,” “Long Distance Call,” and “1901.” Onlookers seemed pleasantly surprised to have Christian, Branco, Thomas and Deck provide an indie rock soundtrack for their day, and who wouldn’t? Their latest album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, earned the group a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.
