Joy Division/Control

Filed Under:

I’m a fan of Joy Division and loved the film 2007 CONTROL, but just this week I finally got around to reading the book the movie is based on:

Written by Ian’s widow Deborah, the book tracks the rise and seemingly unavoidable end with Curtis’ suicide. A complete discography, show dates and lyrics to all Joy Division and Warsaw songs are included.

After reading the book, I found Control the perfect title for the film. Ian Curtis was a control freak and lacked it all at the same time. Oh, why are all of my heroes f*$k ups? Sigh.

I didn’t know anything about Joy Division and watched the movie . Sad he decided to end his life so young.

It’s cool you watched it not knowing anything about the band. They have influenced many many bands.
