My Chemical Romance “Born To Run”
My Chemical Romance has spent almost a year in the studio recording their fourth album with producer Brendan O’Brien, who has worked with Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen.
So what will MCR’s follow up to The Black Parade sound like? The boss meets pop-punk?
Not exactly.
Singer Gerard Way told Rolling Stone he wanted to “harness everything that’s great about this band into shorter songs. Almost protopunk, like the Stooges or the MC5.”

Way said “Trans am,” one of the tracks off the upcoming album, is what pushed the five boys from New Jersey into becoming “an American rock band instead of a British rock band.” They’ve even recorded their own version of “Born to Run.”
Bruce would be so proud.
