THEM CROOKED VULTURES
So next week Them Crooked Vultures will release their much-anticipated album. Josh Homme has been one of my musical icons since about 94. The first time I heard Kyuss’ “Blues for the Red Sun” album, I knew that I wanted to make music like that. It wasn’t super precise and overly compressed like the glammy metal that I was raised on. It was dirty beautiful.

It sounds good in theory but in reality it might be too good to handle. I ate a shitload of acid once and went into a casino in Vegas with a super hot chick that I was positive would let me bang her later. What happened was sensory overload. I shit my pants and started screaming uncontrollably, because I had so much good going on.
I just finished listening to the Vultures album for the second time through. It rips and I did not shit my pants. Go buy it Tuesday.

Saw them as an aftershow for Lollapalooza 2009, amazing and how special to see them with only a small crowd in a small club
