UPDATE: Them Crooked Vultures Release Clip of First Song
UPDATE: Sick of all the shaky cell phone video from the Them Crooked Vultures show in Chicago? Well the Dave Grohl-Josh Homme-John Paul Jones supergroup has finally released a studio recording — but, sadly, it’s agonizingly short.
The 14-second YouTube clip of “Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I” sounds mostly like Led Zeppelin, and the artwork throws back to Queens of the Stone Age’s early videos, like “Go With the Flow.”
Them Crooked Vultures made up of Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin and Queens Of The Stone Age made their live debut in the early hours of this morning (August 10).
Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones and Josh Homme’s group, Them Crooked Vultures took the stage at midnight at Chicago’s Metro as the unofficial Lollapalloza after party.
According to The Chicago Tribune, Grohl played drums, Homme took the guitar and vocals, while Jones was naturally on bass and keyboards.
The band were also joined by Homme’s QOTSA band mate Alain Johannes on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, for the rift-heavy set.
It’s not known if Monday’s Metro performance was a one-off event for the Vultures — There have been whispers of a full-blown tour, but the band declined to comment. It has been widely rumored but not officially confirmed that they will have an album out in October.
Early Monday, a Crooked Vultures Twitter account, which had previously posted links to the band’s official-looking Web site and the Metro’s online ticketing site — posted a link to what appears to be the group’s first bit of official merchandise: a Deserve the Future T-shirt. Cost: $30
Them Crooked Vultures played:
‘Elephants’
‘New Fang’
‘Scumbag Blues’
‘Dead End Friends’
‘Bandoliers’
‘Mind Eraser’
‘Gunman’
‘Daffodils’
‘Interlude w/ Ludes’
‘Caligulove’
‘Warsaw’
‘Nobodys Loves Me’
Below is some fan video from the show, it isn’t great but it is what we got.
