Blink 182 Kick Off Tour
Blink 182 kicked off their tour last night in Vegas and have picked up exactly where they left off. Tom DeLonge walked up to the mic and greeted the sold-out crowd with “Motherf**ker, f**k, sh*t, cocks**ker.” Mark Hoppus shot back “Good point” and the tour was on.
Blink charged through a set that included the teenage anthems “Obvious” and “Stockholm Syndrome,” with DeLone noting to the crowd “I honestly feel like I should only talk about my dick.” DeLonge later added, “Chuck Norris masturbates to us” which would make a great name for his next band.
Blink showed their mature sides with delicate renditions of “Adam’s Song,“ “Man Overboard” and “Stay Together For The Kids” which tackle the subject of suicide, alcoholism and divorce.
DeLonge even showed his vulnerability singing, “I need somebody” on a somber “I Miss You.”
There were rough spots in the show with missed ques and forgotten words but that was expected for their first show back and the crowd didn’t care. After fumbling one set of lyrics DeLonge shouted to the crowd “Look at you guys, payin’ to see us and shit,” and after some missed ques “Ha! Ha! The joke’s on you.”
